Jay was born into a family with dogs and started on his own pet sitting for family and friends when he was just 16. He went to Salem State University after high school and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
Professionally, Jay has worked primarily with dogs but also other animals (ie. cats, birds, lizards, etc.) for over 7 years!! He has mentored under multiple different dog trainers learning many styles of training (though he is always trying to learn more!) He has been a Kennel and Daycare Manager for 5 of those years with responsibilities including but not limited to being in charge of day-to-day operations and employees, training, feeding, cleaning, transporting and most importantly the health and welfare of all the animals and employees.
He is currently upper management of Soul Dogs as their Executive Assistant, Training Consultant and Animal Care Specialist. He works closely with the owner of the company to help make Soul Dogs run as smoothly as possible. Throughout his life and his professional career Jay has learnt that while you can tell a lot from dogs behavior they ultimately do not have their own voices and it is important to be the voice they need you to be. Soul Dogs strives to be that voice and why he chose them over any and all other places to work with.
